Training takes place at Bingham Leisure Centre at 8pm on Tuesday evenings and lasts for approximately one hour. All our training is outdoors in all weathers so it is advisable to dress accordingly!
We know that many new players feel nervous about joining a new club or restarting netball after many years away from the sport but don't worry - many of us have been in that same situation and you'll find that we are a friendly and welcoming club. Our members will help you pick up the rules and get started or pick up where you left off!
ABILITY:
All players are welcome and many of our existing players have various levels of fitness and we have players of all abilities with ages ranging from 20 to 60- (unfortunately we can't take player younger than 16 in our Senior Squad but our Junior Club operates on Moday nights).
No experience or knowledge of netball is required for our training sessions, we can teach you the basics of the game. Many of the new players that have joined previously hadn't played since school, so don't worry if that's you too!
As well as doing skill drills, we also play lots of games with everyone swapping to different positions throughout the hour.
MATCHES:
Players selected for matches will require a good knowledge of the game and a reasonable level of fitness. Players will need to pay an affiliation fee (approx £30) in order to compete for the team throughout the year.
There are two seasons of netball; winter and summer. Winter matches normally take place on Saturdays and Sundays. Summer matches normally take place on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
COST:
There are no fees to join the Bingham Bullettes Netball Team but we ask each person that attends the training session to pay £2 to cover the cost of the court hire. This can be paid weekly. For affiliated players we ask for monthly fees in advance at the same cost of £2 per week or £7 per month direct debit.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
For safety reasons we ask all players not to wear jewellery or watches during training and matches so it is advisable to leave these at home. For matches all players will need to ensure that their nails are kept short for safety reasons.
